CCT:B&B comic so far...

So Cynosure City Tails: Bygone & Buried is 8 pages in now, and... there's some things to say... <w<

1. I'm okay. Mentally, physically... it's just a story. I know I mostly draw cutesy things, but I've (rarely) dabbled in the macabre, cuz sometimes it can be fun to draw, though usually when I do it's related to some like... 'cool fight' or something. Point is: there IS a point, which leads into my second point...

2. I know a page/week (sometimes two) is a bit slow, and makes it seem like this beginning part of the comic is going on forever. It's not. There's a point to all of this, and i'm building a character in hopes of having <the audience> understand what kind of character he is. Please stick with it for now, as we're almost through this... prologue of sorts.

3. I'm gonna be uploading page 9 in a few days, and then page 10 on Monday, trying to get through this part quickly. I am enjoying writing/drawing it, but there seems to be people that aren't enjoying reading it. While I wouldn't let that influence the story I want to tell, I also want anyone reading to be enjoying what i'm putting out there.
If this isn't the story for you, I understand. For what it's worth, things calm down after page 9 visually, but the tone of the story will still be on the more serious side.

I estimate the comic to be around... 32-ish pages, but might be a few more depending on pacing. Once this comic is done, I'll draw more cute things, and maybe some commissions for those who are here watching me just for that stuff, but I also have more stories to tell. Not all will be this serious/violent in tone, so I hope that if you're interested in stories involving my OCs that you look forward to them. If not, well, there will always be the occasional smut.

The issue I have so far, (purely in my opinion) is that all ive learned about this guy is he is a violent psychopath that goes off on a hair trigger. And that he fights well.

I cannot POSSIBLY think of a way he is supposed to be a good guy. Even if he is revealed to have a sad backstory, he's to far gone for me to care or relate to. Unless everyone in the bar is revealed to be war criminals or rapists or something.

So is he the bad guy? Because this is a LOT of time to watch a bad guy be violent. These 8 pages could have been summed up in 3-4 without losing much imo with slash cuts. I feel like i would not have missed out on anything if I skipped out on the past few pages. But its not my comic, so take my criticism with a lot of salt.

Well that's good, because I intended you to learn that about him. :) Mission accomplished.

As for the length, yeah it could have probably been trimmed a little bit, but I didn't want my comic to seem rushed, and wanted to really solidify how you should be viewing him as a character. After the comic I'll probably upload some small sketches/story writings that sort of supplement the story. We'll see. This week and next week will be 2-page weeks, so maybe that'll speed things along and it won't feel as long. :p

It is great that you're enjoying yourself! I say that's the most important part of creative works. An artist should always be able to stretch their creative muscles and do something new!

Appreciated! Like I said, I had a story to tell, and, even if no one else liked it, I would still tell it~
(But i’m glad there are some who are enjoying it so far~)
