Hey, folks. After more than a decade of neglect, I finally updated The Wacintosh Files and Backing Out comic web sites with new, high-resolution versions of all my comic strips. They should all be much more readable. Bear in mind that there's no new content. I just spruced up the existing stuff a bit.
Normally I don't like it when artists try to redirect their audience to a 3rd-party site to view art, but... there's no way I'm uploading/updating hundreds of comics here. Any new content I make will be uploaded to all my active gallery sites at once, which includes Inkbunny, FurAffinity, and my homepage. I don't like the idea of exclusivity or site loyalty, so you guys won't miss out on anything. 8)
(Seriously, guys... stop uploading stuff exclusively to Twitter and posting teaser ads here. Inkbunny is not a damn advertising billboard!)
For anyone who happens to be a compulsive downloader, I do have an all-in-one ZIP download for sale, which includes both print and web quality versions of all the comics, and a bunch of extras. Check out the "Dollar Deal" link in each comics' news section for more details. Just bear in mind I don't accept DeviantArt points anymore, since I only lurk on that site and don't buy commissions there. Random fanart is also a perfectly valid form of payment!
On another note, I thought about cleaning up and rewriting some of the old Backing Out comics since the world setting is pretty confusing and annoying. Alas, my experiment to have BO take place thousands of years in the future didn't really work out very well, even at the time I wrote all this stuff, and it really feels corny and cringy to me today. Nonetheless, I've decided to leave history as it is. If I create any new Backing Out artwork, it'll just be slice-of-life stuff.
Thanks for this. I'll enjoy seeing them in an easier-on-the-eyes format than when I first found Backing Out in 1993. (Yeah, I'm old too.) I wouldn't mind AT ALL if you decided to post some occasional new content there!
Also, I never found the in-the-future scenario a all corny. The appearance of the Humans' old biplane sticks in my memory to this day.

I can certainly understand why some artists wipe their galleries occasionally, as I could certainly do all those comics over much better today. My old stuff looks really weird. However, I'm one of those sentimental suckers that likes to preserve things the way they are, warts and all, just to show how much progress is made over time.
