Karan, a mighty and powerful dragon warrior was well known for his bravery and his remarkable combative skills.
He had however one weakness: he was seemingly sterile; he wasn’t able to father any children. This revelation made by the healers troubled his heart and soul. There would never be someone from his own blood. He would grow old and die then soon to be forgotten. Even if there would be songs or stories about him, they wouldn’t be told by dragons of his own bloodline.
A warrior's worst fate is being forgotten, it’s almost as bad as dying of old age in bed instead of dying a glorious death on the battlefield.
But then something happened: Karan had a relationship with a cute but clumsy kobold girl and - lo and behold - she actually laid an egg!
You can image how happy and excited Karan was!
So excited and joyful Karan is about this one singular egg his mate has laid motivates his every effort to please soon-to-be mother and child. Just after a few months his son hatches! A tiny but healthy kobold emerges! The little baby boy had Karan's own body colors: white and pink. Karan took the tiny thing into his hands and saw that his newborn son smiled at him.
Karan never had been this happy in his entire life and he visited all shrines and temples to thank every god which he was able to find!
The other dragons of course didn’t share Karan's excitement for his newborn child. Karan's little son is an absurd creature to them. A dragon/kobold hybrid who doesn't even have wings and who isn't capable of flight.
But Karan didn’t care; his deepest wish was that he would have have children to pass on his legacy and his wish has been fulfilled! Alvar (Hebrew for "Guardian" or "Warrior") might not be as strong or fearsome as a dragon, but he is very brave and he very deeply admires his father.
