This was meant as a gift picture, but since it was not appreciated , it no longer represents the characters in question. I removed both of their names, but I'm gonna keep the rest of the description:

Now it did take me a while until I came up with a solid idea and even when I did, I felt it wasnt enough. This wasnt supposed to be a run-of-the-mill kinda picture that they already had in their galleries, so I scrapped it and put it on hold until after the pin-up commissions were done.

At some point during this period, I came up with this idea and I thought this would be perfect, to make for a unique and new spin on the depiction of both of their characters. I was really excited when both of them liked the idea and after that, all bets were off, since I had so many ideas to include in that.
Just the background alone did take me a couple of days, since I did create it in 3ds max. Just coming up with a design for that damn space ship there took me forever!

But I had so much fun with this, I think it was worth every second and every revision I had to do, because the final result looks just the way I wanted it to be.

And I hope you do too! :)

You did that on Autodesk 3DS Max? I didn't know you could produce a flat picture with that software. I am using it now to hack my SSBB game. That looks amazing! You have to tell me more about how you created that background or I need to find a tutorial. It makes me want to cry. It's so beautiful. It reminds me of mass effect or metroid other m.

I didnt completely create it in 3ds max, just parts of the background, like the space ship and the insides of the space station there. I put the 3d models together, put them in perspective and rendered them, nothing more to it.

Goodness me... That is so many different kinds of brilliant :) Absolutely adorable - just one of those wonderful things about when you work together, those momentary encounters when your paths cross and you are able to share moments like this :) i simply must keep an eye on when you open up next :)

I fear I can only echo everyone else's praise. It's a blindingly spectacular work. The term "masterpiece" originally meant the work produced by an apprentice that finally convinced his master that the apprentice had achieved his mastery of his art. I don't bandy that word about lightly. I've loved your work since I discovered it, some time ago; this work is something more. There is soul here. It's brilliant. This truly is a masterpiece.

Wow, thank you! Thats a tremendous compliment and I feel honored by it. I cannot say anything besides that, I am very thankful that I have earned such a high praise from both you and others. I do also feel that I have accomplished something with this picture, that I hadnt before and I feel that I have grown as an artist through this. Thanks again, I really appreciate the kind words. :3

Thank you very much, that is very kind of you. :3
It began as a misunderstanding. During the whole process of it, the other guys and me referred to this as a "commission". They were okay in giving me artistic freedom and when the picture was finished and I was like "Okay, now let's talk about the payment." They said, they assumed it was a free picture. My response was "Oh, well I guess that was my mistake then, but I wanted to draw that for you, so let's just say it's a gift." And I was really fine with it being a gift and all. But they never responded to my message, so I was left hanging. Oh well, live and learn. :3 At least it's appreciated by you and others. :3
