The *cough cough* totally not much better stand-ins for neurotic figures have taken a day to hop off and visit one of the sunny, sandy beaches of Zootopia, probably Outback Island, the artificial cycled-saltwater bathing parks of Sahara Square are touristy as hell, and that's saying something when Outback Island runs on tourism too. Both places are very "mixed couples friendly" so the choice was about ease and feeling. It's a straighter shot from the Rainforest District through downtown to Outback Island.
He looks happy, doesn't he? Literally happier than he's been in years. Supremacy and arrogance doesn't make a mammal happy. He had to find a cheap, generic brand substitute for happiness to make up for mistakes he made. He doesn't need a relationship to be happy, of course. He needed freedom from the intellectual cult he was orbiting. Having Ame isn't a solution. It's a bonus. His courtship was successful because he changed, mentally.
And Ame. She had it bad for him. But again, he wasn't the solution. The solution was understanding how to handle her own problems, and understand she was allowed to want what she wanted. She's a queen bee, a lead actress, intelligent, charming. She just wanted her longwolf to not be stupid. He fixed that. So, longwolf.
And no, that's not a cocktail. Surprisingly. You see this a decent amount in Japanese media, beach or water park trips will often include the almost comically large goblet filled with neon liquid, some kind of fruit juice cooler, non alcoholic. It's very big, because Bela paid (his family has money and shows off for the Ichojis because this is about the best they could ever imagine as far as partners for Bela) and Ame casually slipped in a tip and a little extra to bump the size up one quietly (the Ichojis have money too and try to tell the Farkas family they adore Bela because of how he makes Ame feel.) Now a skinny twig and a squashed shortstacky dwarf will try to kill off a comically large drink while they act like the cutest couple on the beach.
