Here is a gift drawing I did for FoxyFlapper.
FoxyFlapper
FoxyFlapper

It is based off of one of Foxy's drawing's which is linked below. When I viewed it, I wondered then how it would have looked 25+ years later in the 1950s when a teenager acquired it and converted it to a hot rod.
Sophisticated by FoxyFlapper

As the story goes; Early in the year of 1958, a teenager, Samuel Ferret, purchased his very first car. Samuel Ferret was attending high school in the 10th grade in Estancia, New Mexico at the time. Having his very own car now meant he didn't have to ask Daddy for the keys to the family car every time he wanted to go out on dates with his girl friend, Beth Ferret.
The car was 26 years old at the time Samuel had gotten a good deal purchasing it from it's 2nd owner, Barney Bear. Samuel Ferret was now the car's 3rd owner. The car's original owner was a sophisticated lady wolf from upper class high society who purchased the car in 1932 when it was brand new. Sometime around 1938, she had sold it to Barney Bear at the time she purchased a newer car that year. Barney Bear had the car for 20 years, during which time he moved to New Mexico, before selling it to Samuel Ferret in 1958.

After Samuel Ferret acquired the car, it wasn't long before he wanted to make it into a hot rod. Samuel's older brother, Earl Ferret, worked for an automotive repair shop in Moriarty and helped his younger brother, Samuel, getting it all put together.
The original flat head V-8 was kept...After all, a high school teenager can't afford an engine swap for an overhead valve engine with higher compression and aluminum pistons (engines 25 years earlier had steel pistons). However, an after market intake manifold to adopt a 4 bbl carburetor to a flat head engine was available, in which Samuel chose a large cfm, 4 bbl double pumper (has two float bowls). Older brother, Earl, got a good deal for Samuel on a pair of headers and glass pack mufflers (if you can call them mufflers). Then after removing the bumpers, running boards and fenders, new hot rod wheels were installed. Earl and Samuel even installed a set of rear traction trusses, being that the original axle braces wouldn't be strong enough for the added horse power and torque from hopping up the engine.
A high performance cam shaft was also installed. Samuel wanted to go with a high rise cam. However, Earl was concerned that because the engine was a flat head, there could be the risk of a high rise cam pushing the valves too far and smashing them into the heads. Thus they settled on a long duration cam which was not a high rise (in a flat head engine, the valves are in the block).  Earl suggested removing the bird hood ornament, but Samuel said it was really cool looking. Thus the bird hood ornament stayed. The final touches were the dice and 8 ball painted on the doors, and the "Mr. Horsepower" stickers.
Everyone at school really liked Samuel Ferret's new hot rod. And his girl friend, Beth, thought it was the coolest. And when Samuel Ferret joined that click of the other high school hot rod street racers such as; Danny Otter, Johnny Fox, Freddy Skunk and several others, he earned the nick name, Hot Rod Sammy. Needless to say, that hot rod car also earned Samuel Ferret a few traffic tickets as well.

There was the time two fellow high school students, Biff Pitbull and his younger brother Richie, thought their Dad's 1959 Cadillac could beat Samuel Ferret's hot rod. Biff even waged a $25 bet on the race, which would be like $250 in the 21st Century. After the race was over, Biff lost $25 to Samuel Ferret when he was shown that a factory stock Cadillac is no match for a souped up hot rod.

Another time, Samuel Ferret figured his hot rod could beat Danny Otter's Studebaker Golden Hawk.
That's when Samuel Ferret found out that Danny's Golden Hawk was no ordinary Studebaker. Golden Hawks were the fastest cars Studebaker made during the time Danny Otter's car was built.
Fortunately for Samuel, only $5 was waged on that race. Though it was still like what $50 is in the 21st Century.

On the flipside to Samuel Ferret's street racing and driving habits, his dad, Lester Donaldson Ferret, is an insurance agent (DBA Donaldson Insurance Agency).
Samuel's mom, Helen, is a registered nurse.

Sometime early in the year of 1960, when Samuel Ferret was in his senior year of high school, the rear axle was swapped out and a custom drive shaft made. Though it took almost two years to become obvious, the original rear axle and original drive shaft eventually proved to be unable to hold up to the increased horse power and torque.

In picture #2. A picture taken on August 10th, 1960, two months plus a few days after the graduation of the class of 1960.

In picture #3. That picture taken with black and white film.

Listed below are some of Samuel Ferret's fellow classmates in the Estancia High School class of 1960:

Sophia Raccoon (Skip's girl friend)

*Larry Cougar (captain of the high school football team),

Angela Fox (Johnny Fox's girl friend),
And there are others not named in this posting who also graduated in class of 1960.
 * Larry and Daffinee Cougar were king and queen of the class of 1960 senior prom.

The day and time depicted along with the list of Samuel Ferret's fellow alumni reminds me of the song linked below, though the song came out years after 1960 and was about a class 3 years earlier than class of '60 was;

Namely his girl friend, Beth Ferret.

I've been told it's very uncomfortable.

True. With the exception of a few models of expensive larger cars, the average cars back in those days didn't have very much room in them.

Even today it's not well shaped for sex in mind.

There was plenty of room in those 1950s and 1960s cars though.

The artist of the original drawing is a good artist. We agreed in a PM for me to do the 1950s version as a gift drawing.

It's only a matter of time now for FoxyFlapper to find the PM I recently left.

My late dad would've loved that hot rod.  He once had a couple of hot rods he drove like Hot Rod Sammy and his friends.

And I think I found a model kit version of that car on the Model Roundup website.  If I build it for you, though, I'll have to show it to you on your other accounts:

Those were common in the 1950s. By about the mid 1960s, you didn't see many of them around.

I misread part of your comment. I notice the model is yet to be rebuilt...My bad.

I am looking forward to seeing it when it is built though.
