Ty watched and enjoyed the show Paw Patrol when it first debuted in 2013, becoming attached and invested in its cute characters and wholesome storytelling. The pups Chase and Skye were especially his favorites. However, after several years of watching, he slowly drifted apart from the show; his job and the many other pressures of adult life began to take over, leaving him little time or motivation to watch it anymore. Everything seemed especially hopeless following the devastating passing of his mother due to illness. Such an immense loss undoubtedly changes a person's life forever. Even though it had been been months since the funeral, he still prayed for something, anything to give him a chance to recover emotionally and learn how to be happy again.
One day, he heard there was going to be a theatrical movie for the cartoon that he once enjoyed during a much simpler time in his life when the world didn't seem so bleak. When he finally watched it, something lit up inside him, something he hadn't felt in what felt like forever: joy. He was finally feeling something positive again and wished more than anything that he'd be able to meet his favorite pups Chase and Skye in person; but of course, knowing they were fictional characters, he knew it could never be.

It was now Christmas Eve and he was fully back into Paw Patrol. Nearly everyone has coping mechanisms when dealing with traumatic loss, and sure, Ty's came in the form of adorable cartoon pups from a kids' show, but anyone be damned if they ever judged him for it.
When his family was still asleep early on Christmas Day morning he went to the tree, always loving the Christmas spirit every year; even this year, when he had just been through the darkest place in his life he'd ever been. Suddenly, he was shocked to see the familiar pup, Chase, just sleeping under the tree with his police teddy bear. Next to him was an also-sleeping Skye with a small stuffed bunny plush. After his initial shock, he finally noticed a card on the floor in front of them. Careful not to wake them from their sleep just yet, he slowly picked up the note as quietly as he could and began to read it to himself.

"I've heard your Christmas wish my dear boy, you are a good son that I know everyone should be in life. I'm so very sad to hear about the loss of your mother, she was on the 'Nice' list every single year. No one should have to go what you and your family have gone through. But it's an unfortunate reality that sometimes the ones we love get sick and simply never get better. Not even Christmas magic can fix something like that, but how I wish it could. How I wish.
But I digress, since you've been such a good boy this year and have been through a lot, I listened to your deepest prayers and desires and I hoped I've helped bring you your happiness back by giving you your two favorite pups from your favorite show. And don't worry, I know that they'll be good pups with you.
     Sincerely Santa "Saint Nick" Claus"

Upon finishing reading the note, Ty noticed that both pups were waking up and started hugging him, knowing how much he needed this.
