Nala was sure she'd heard someone nearby. the rustling of the bushes, the scent of fear and worry, she just couldn't spot them.
You'd think a lion or other cat would be easy to spot at this grass height, guess not. She thought as she slunk through the grass.
The surrounding birds fell silent as she stalked around, sniffing occasionally, trying to locate the source of the–
"Oh who am I kidding...I'd don't think it's gonna work..." a voice reached Nala's position. She froze, ears perked and swiveled towards the source. The voice was feminine, and definitely younger then she'd expected. Nala had been on the look out for an adult cat...not a cub.
Slipping carefully from the grass, she spotted the voice's owner, and at first she grimaced. It was one of those outlander cubs, the little female one...then she heard the sniffles...and the little chirps of worry from the girl.
"But if i don't succeed, mother said...she..." The cub gripped her arm, doubt dancing in her vision as she leaned into the tree for support.
Nala's curiousity was now piqued. What was this cub up to?
