Seconded, AI-sourced pictures pirate the shit out of the real artists to feed their 'algorithms'.

It is clogging other image sites too.

I hope this trend of AI-imaging ends soon, 'cause it is boring and lacking personality and style.

I heard it was a big deal in music a few years ago, and now - maybe not so much? Most people want something unique from a particular artist, and to be featured in their output, not just something that looks like they could have done it.

Of course, if anyone could do what you are doing, you probably already have plenty of competition, an AI will make no difference and may well have a higher cost.

AI-generated art has absolutely no heart!

I can get maybe "no misrepresented AI images"

And maybe even "ai images can't be copyrighted so that artists infringe on the AI because AI was asked to make a million images and you just happened to make one similar enough to infringe"

But the idea that AI art should be banned entirely is nonsensical. You should refine your argument.

There about as much chance to stop Ai art as there was to stop automated looms or for horse keepers to stop cars.

You're absolutelly right.

But "ai images can't be copyrighted so that artists infringe on the AI because AI was asked to make a million images and you just happened to make one similar enough to infringe" Is not a good protest slogan

Personally I have a lot of fun using the AI programs creating fun and interesting images.  Meanwhile I still pay for art from my favorite artists.  AI art is a great tool for artists too I think.  They could use it to come up with poses and such for example.  Maybe even train it to make stuff in their own style for some add uniqueness.  That could be a Patreon level even.  Get exclusive AI gen stuff lol.

As for the art theft aspect, I am not so sure that is any different than a new artist.  Didn't you yourself take inspiration from other artists when you first began?  Some even begin their days tracing to help themselves learn.  Is this so different?  Its an amalgamation of all the different styles its been trained from.

I do get the fear though.  I think AI art can be an invaluable tool.  But just like all tools there will be others who misuse that tool.  This does not mean that tool needs to be gotten rid of.  I think the artists who will be more effected though are the ones in the industries.  Like album art artists.  Or movie cover artists, basically ones that work for large corporations or media companies.  I think this is a threat to them more so than anything else.  But they have a huge sway in their fields so I think it will protect them.  As for artists here?  I doubt it will be as bad as many fear it will be if there will be any at all.

Real artists don't use eracers! I distinctly remember being told this by my third grade teach. Hopefully she changed her mind.

... forgive my comment, but that doesn't sound like a very good art teacher. Especially for young people ._.

She wasn't even an art teacher, it was just her opinion. I used my eracer as a ruller too (because she forbid rullers) to draw straight lines for the solar panels on my satellite. She came over, ripped it out of my hands and stormed off acting like she caught me cheating on a test.

I acknowledge the ethical concerns about companies building multi-billion dollar industries by vacuuming up all those images and text from the internet and profiting from them. Even though it is yet to be seen whether this is against the law, if feels wrong.

If there's any argument that might convince someone like you to give AI a go, it's this: a skilled artist equipped with AI tools has a very secure future compared to someone who just isn't a good artist to begin with, even if they have access to the same AI tools.

Working with AI tools today, it's very clear that a picture is trully 'worth a thousand words' and probably way more. Having the skills to push beyond the limits of AI is priceless.

That teacher sounds really... not good -_-

I agree. Like with any new invention, the worries are not so much on its use, rather in its abuse

I hate to point this out but you are a fool, 20 ago you had people whining about computer art packages like Coral Adobe etc as the REAL ART was Drawn with Pen Pencil, pastels paint etc..... But people got used to the ANTI ART of computer Drawing Paint programs and now nearly every one uses computer art software....AI is just the new step in the Evolution and Progression of Art, Think of the hell it takes for an artist to learn how to do Fur  when AI gets added to desktop art packages  there will have to be a Learning Curve but even poor artists will be able to master Fur. Have you yourself tried to use AI, as you will find just like any new progression it is NOT as easy as you think it is you will have to sit down and spend hours many hours learning how to use it it..... The way you are reacting  you would think you sit down  and mouse click A B C D E F and you have the next Master Piece..... No you have to spend  time learning just like you spent time learning how to use your current paint programs ..... What does AI  mean, Like 20 years ago The Traditional Artists had to step up the game, the quality of Trad art produced today is way beyond what it was in the past, You can see that at art shows at Cons and when they do the My art in the past my art today comparison.... What will happen is art programs may start adding AI to help people so Artists will have to step up and improve skills and learners and poor artists who take the time to learn how to use this will be able to produce good pictures, All the stick figure poor art will for the most part be come a thing of the past.... AI will NOT replace artists but it will force them to improve, this is just anther step in the evolution of art.
