Mama Raccoon wants a nice newer car. She wants to ride in style in a car that would impress the friends and relatives.
Daddy Raccoon is more frugal with the family finances. If a car can be picked up cheap and kept running for seeming forever, Daddy feels that's money saved.

This is a mixed media drawing. And it has been a long time since I did one that way.
I did the basic drawing with paper and pencil. Then I photographed it with a camera. Then I pulled up the image on my laptop and added the finer details and colouring digitally on a drawing tablet.

As for the gist of the joke, I got that from a Bazooka bubble gum comic 50 years ago...Bazooka brand bubble gum had those little comic strips packaged with the bubble gum.

Jack laughed and said “my cars are old but not that old and my cubs grandparents aka my mom and dad aren’t that old my dad’s first car was built in the late 70s and my first car I worked on to restore was built in 1958 then I built my camero from a junker then my van is from 2014”

The first vehicle I actually worked on was a 1974 Ford Econoline van. It was when I replaced a bad universal joint.

My first major repair job I did myself was replacing a bad transmission in a 1977 Dodge pick up truck with a good transmission I got from a junkyard.

That reminds me of a song I heard 15 years ago, Indian Cars Go Far, by a Native American band, Electronic Warrior.
There were a lot of things that were ragged out on the car that the song was written about.

No doubt the car about which the song was written was looking fly in Rez Chrome (duct tape).  I want to hear that song now.

It's been 15 years ago, and I heard it on a car radio. I wouldn't know where to find it by now.

Love this.     Laughed after seeing the picture.

Though spending money on a car is something to really consider before doing, no matter the price.
