The spooky season of Halloween has arrived in Unova, and all the children throughout the region are excited for the Candy Hunt. Ranae had arrived home after doing some shopping, she had gotten decorations and a cute costume for her little boy: a lucario onesie with a dark-blue fedora, and a small brown leather jacket. It had a zipper on the back so it could be donned easily. It was an Island Explorer Jack costume.
“Angie, can you please put up the decorations. We’re going to be having a party tonight.” said Ranae.
“Yes mother!” exclaimed her daughter from the living room.
The grassy snake made her way to the kitchen, and unpacked the decorations from the plastic shopping bag. She noticed the costume inside and said “Awww… is this for Nicholas? It looks so cute!”
“It sure is, this costume had a sixty-percent price reduction. Wasn’t as popular compared to the other ones. He’s going as Island Explorer Jack for his first Candy Hunt this year!” said the serperior as she watched her daughter decorate the kitchen with orange and red lights, including fake spider webs and stringed banners with ghost-type pokemon on them.
The serperior grabbed the costume with her vines, and slithered into the living room where Nick was playing with his toy Pokèblocks. Building little towers with them. His mother gently approached him, showing him the costume which sat in a plastic casing.
“What’s that momma?” asked Nick.
“It’s your Halloween costume for this year, figured it would be perfect for your first ever Candy Hunt. You’re going as Island Explorer Jack!” said Ranae cheerfully.
“Hwalloween? Cwandy Hwunt?” the pup asked.
“It’s one of the spookiest and most fun holidays, it happens at the end of each October. The Candy Hunt allows you to go out and collect treats from people’s houses. Your big sister has done it many times, she always enjoys doing it. She’s going as a Fairy Princess. After doing that, we’ll be having a little Halloween Party.” said Ranae.
“Yay! I can’t wait!” exclaimed Nick.
“That’s good to hear, come here my son!” said the serpent as she gently coiled around her son for five seconds, and then released him as she returned to the kitchen to see how Angelina was doing with the decorations. The pup decided to follow behind his mother.
While the daughter was hanging up some of the lights, she heard a knock at the door and stopped. She wondered who was knocking at the front door.
“I'll get it, probably just a neighbor asking for something.” said the serperior as she slithered over to the front door while her son remained in the kitchen.
The grassy serpent used her vines to twist the door knob, opening the door as she wondered who was waiting on the other side. It’s revealed to be a Ninetails with one tail with a young Eevee mixed with an Umbreon, she was wearing a onesie-dress with a pink shirt that had a Lillipup on the front. Ranae hadn’t seen these neighbors before, so she was intrigued about them.
“Hello, I am Ranae Marbette. How may I help you this morning?” She asked the duo.
“Hey there, my name is S’mores and this is my daughter Celeste. I’m looking for someone to go Candy Hunting with her this year.” said the ninetales.
“Hewwo…” the young hybrid pokemon said shyly.
“Hey sweetie, a pleasure to meet you!” the serperior said gently as she looked back at the ninetales. “My son will be doing his first one this year. It’d be perfect to pair him up with someone his age, would you like to see him?”
“Why of course, I’d love to!” said S’mores cheerfully.
Ranae was about to grab her son from the kitchen, only to see that he was sitting behind her the whole time. He was curious about who she was talking to. The pup watched as his mother used her vines to pick him up, and brought him outside for the neighbors to see.
“Awww… is this your little boy? He looks so cute!” said the ninetales.
“Thank you, this is Nicholas. You can call him Nicky, if that’s easier for you.” said Ranae as she put the baby down. “My daughter is currently inside decorating the house.”
Nick looked at the hybrid eevee, and was rather curious about her. He hadn’t seen any pokemon like this before, so it was a new experience for him. The young lady looked at the pup, and was excited about his appearance.
“Wow…! He’s vewwy cool! I like his shwiny fur!” said Celeste.
“Thwankies!” the pup exclaimed. “My name is Nicky!”
“You’re welkies, My nwame is… Celeste!” she replied.
“He’s such a friendly kiddo, was he adopted?” S’mores asked.
“Yes, we adopted him last year from Blisswood Orphanage. His mother abandoned him before he was born. We decided to adopt him into our family after careful consideration.” said the serperior.
“Poor baby… I am sure he’s happy being in your family. My daughter is also adopted, she’s a umbreon and eevee mixed into one: an Umbrevui! She’s got excellent eye-sight!” said the ninetales.
“Interesting… I’ve never seen any hybrid pokemon in the region before, so this is entirely new to me.” Ranae replied.
“Yeah, it’s a rare chance for a pokemon to be born as a hybrid.” S’mores answered. “I love her and treat her as family, along with Maya. She’s my second adopted daughter.”
“It’s good to hear, so… how about you two meet here at seven-forty five?” asked Ranae. “Both our kids seem to get along pretty well.
“I’m alright with that, it’ll allow me and my daughter to get ready.” said the ninetales as she sniffed the air for a moment, detecting a slightly foul odor. “And you need a diaper change, little lady!”
“Ahuh, I sure do!” the umbrevui said as she chuckled.
“Alright, I’ll let you two get home. See you later!” the serperior exclaimed.
“It’ll be a wonderful night!” said S’mores.
The two headed away from the house, and right down the sidewalk in order to return to their home. Ranae gently grabbed her son using her vines, and brought him back inside. Closing the door behind her. The pup was put down in the living room, so he could play with his toys until lunch-time.
Meanwhile in the neighborhood park, Ritha was hanging out with two children while her mother watched over them. She befriended them two months ago, they all liked to cause trouble without getting scolded. The perfect trio of trouble makers. These kids were known as Allin the Abra and Sethra the Sneasel.
The physic-type pokemon wore a light-blue onesie while the other dark-ice type donned a black shirt with blue jeans that covered her pull-ups. The baby bird was currently in a pink t-shirt and dark-gray cloth diaper.
“Doing well and causing trouble?” asked the dark flying-type.
“Yeah, I tricked a stupid kid into giving me his action figure, teleporting away afterwards!” said Allin.
“I slashed up a neighbor’s rose garden, they’ll never find out who did it!” exclaimed Sethra.
“Excellent, that is wonderful news!” said Ritha.
“So… how are you planning to get back at that brat for getting you into trouble months ago?” the sneasel asked.
The vullaby chuckled evilly to herself, she had the perfect plan. She had been brewing this for many months, and it was the perfect time to bring it to fruition. The baby bird hoped that this would scare the living daylights out of that pup.
Oh… I certainly do! It’s terribly wonderful!” the dark bird exclaimed.
“Well, go ahead and tell us…” said the abra.
“Keep your diapers on, I’ll tell you in a moment!” said Ritha.
“I wear pull-ups, not diapers…” the sneasel replied sheepishly.
“It’s the same thing, now here’s the plan: located on Route 2 is an abandoned building called the Silver Mansion, it was built many years ago. It’s rumored to be haunted by a spirit called The Silver Maid, she used to serve a rich family that lived there. We’re going to lure him inside, and trap him! He’ll be bawling his eyes out for sure!” she explained.
“That is a malicious plan, I love it!” said Allin.
“The perfect plan for revenge!” exclaimed Sethra.
“From now on… we shall call ourselves the Black Rose!” said Ritha.
“Yipeee!” the two exclaimed.
“For this plan to succeed, Allin must successfully teleport to the outside of the building. If we end up inside, then everything will be ruined. I know he’s been working on his teleportation ability. Also.. no mentioning the word teleport when it happens.” said the dark flying-type.
“I’ll do my best, I want to help you get back at that pup!” the abra answered.
“Perfect…” said Ritha.
“What do we do now?” The sneasel asked.
“Potty break anyone?” asked Allin.
“I’m currently potty-training, my momma would be upset if I filled my pull-ups…” said Sethra.
“Just tell her it was an accident,” said the dark bird.
“Alright… we can take a potty break.” the sneasel replied.

After having a wholesome and hearty dinner, Angelina was in the living room with her little brother. Helping him put his costume on, making sure it was fully zipped up. She didn’t want it falling off while he was out Candy Hunting. The pup was changed into a halloween diaper with a Zubat wetness indicator. His big sister was dressed up in a sparkly green dress with fairy wings, including a shiny plastic circlet.
“There we go, all zipped up and ready to go!” said Angelina.
“It feels cozy!” exclaimed Nick.
“Good, I’m glad you're enjoying it!” the grassy snake replied.
Ranae slithered into the living room, holding a white diaper bag and small orange candy bucket with her vines. Putting them down on the ground.
“Who’s a cute Island Explorer? You are, yes you are!” the serperior said as she tickled her son using her vines. The pup giggled and laughed from being tickled by his mother. After ten seconds, the grass serpent stopped tickling the boy as she heard a knock at the door. “That must be the neighbors, let’s go greet them!”
“Right!” said the grass snake.
Ranae slithered over to the door and opened it using her vines, seeing the ninetales and Umbrevui dressed in unique costumes: S’mores was in a Vulpix bodysuit, while her daughter donned a pink leather pilot suit with little salmon-pink wings. The young lady carried a pink candy bucket, while her mother was in charge of carrying a medium-sized pink diaper bag.
The trio stepped onto the front door, closing the door behind them. The ninetales looked at the snivy and said “This must be your daughter, she looks very nice.”
“Thank you, this is Angelina. She wants to become a Nurse when she gets older.” said Ranae.
“Nwice to mweet you!” said Celeste.
“A pleasure to meet you two, I’m helping keep an eye on my little brother while he goes Candy Hunting for the first time.” said Angelina.
“That’s very kind of you, dear.” said S’mores. “And before I forget… There's something special about my daughter.”
“Really? Tell me about it.” said the serperior.
“She can track aura signals, like radio signals bouncing off an antenna. However… she can’t track those who are far away unless she gets closer.” said the ninetales.
“That’s a great ability, sounds good for finding anyone that’s lost.” said Ranae.
“It sure is, I lwove my ability!” the umbrevui said.
“I wonder… what’s your daughter dressed as?” asked the grass snake.
“She’s going as Skye Flyer: Lillipup of The Sky. It’s her favorite show. I’m dressed as my pre-evolution form.” said S’mores.
“I’m a big fan of it!” said Celeste.
“That sounds cool, my little brother likes Island Explorer Jack and Alphabet Avenue.” said Angelina.
“Interesting, maybe I’ll have my daughter watch those shows. Anyways… are we all ready to go?” asked the ninetales.
“Yes, we are all prepared!” said the serperior.
“Okay, let’s go! To The Sky!” exclaimed the umbrevui as she went ahead of the group.
“Remember… we all need to stay together!” said Ranae.
“One other thing, little brother. When you get to a house, you knock on their door and shout Candy or Trick. After that, you’ll be given some candy!” said the grass snake.
“Yes sissy!” said Nick as he happily held onto his orange candy bucket.
The group headed off towards the first house on the left side of the neighborhood, watching as one group walked up to the front door and shouted “Candy or Trick!” after the occupant opened the front door, giving them small packages of candy. Watching as they headed off to the next house in line.
“See Nickster? Just like that, now go ahead and get your treats! Don’t worry about me!” said Angelina as she gently patted her little brother on the back.
The two kids headed up to the front door of the house, gently knocking on the door two times. When the owner opened up the door, they shouted happily “Candy or Trick!” which got a chuckle from them. The person handing out candy at this home was a Gardevoir dressed as an Ice Princess.
“Hey cuties! Happy Halloween!” said the gardevoir as she dropped two small packages of candied berries into their buckets. She looked at the shiny riolu and asked “First time Candy Hunting?”
“Ahuh! It sure is! Thwank you!” said Nick
“Thwankies!” said Celeste.
“I hope you enjoy your first Halloween, have a good night kiddos!” she said.
The Gardevoir closed the front door after the kids had left the porch and went back to their mothers, showing them what they got in their candy buckets. S’mores cheerfully praised them and said “Good work, you both got candied berries! Those are popular treats for younger children!”
“It’s a treat that Nick will enjoy!” said the grass snake.
“Onto the next house, you know what to do!” said Ranae.
“More candy! More treats!” the two kids exclaimed.
As they traveled through the night, the kids collected great amounts of candy with their little candy buckets. They nearly had enough for three-days worth of sugary treats. Both mothers were glad that the two were having a wonderful time going candy hunting with each other.
Before they headed to their seventh house to gather more sweets, both parents decided to stop and perform a routine diaper check on their young children. Just in case they needed a change before continuing their Candy Hunt.
“Okay Celeste, time for a diaper inspection!” the ninetales said.
“Let’s check that nappy of yours, Little Nicky!” said the serperior.
“Yes, Mama!” said Nick
“Okays!” said Celeste.
Both kids nodded as their mothers moved them to the side, and laid them on portable diaper changing mats. S’more and Ranae discover that both kids were soaked, changing them into new halloween-themed diapers. Their wet nappies were placed in a plastic bag to be thrown out later. Celeste and Nick were placed back into their costumes afterwards, continuing their trip through the neighborhood. Heading towards the next house.
While this happened, Ritha and her two friends were hiding inside of an oran-berry bush which was by the next house. They waited for the perfect moment to strike. The thickness of the bush itself provided good camouflage, not wanting to be caught too easily. The trio was dressed in purple and black robes to hide themselves.
Their plan was to get the jump on Nick, and teleport away with him shortly after. It couldn’t be a second sooner or else they’d be immediately busted. Everything hinged on the perfect opportunity. Allin got his father to take him to the outside of the mansion hours before, so he already had the location in his mind.
“Alright… as soon as the brat stops in place, we grab him by the shoulder and get away!” Ritha whispered. Both Allin and Sethra nodded without making a sound, they didn’t want to give away their position to anyone.
After they visited the seventh-house and collected the candy from there, the group made their way down to the eighth-house in line. The kids heard from other children that the next place is giving away extra bags of candied berries, pretty much a jackpot home. This excited Nick and Celeste, since they wanted more of those scrumptious treats.
The members of The Black Rose watched as they passed by, under the cover of the thick bush. Waiting for the perfect moment to strike. When the young pup stopped to pick up some candy that he dropped, the troublesome trio popped up from behind him and grabbed Nick by the shoulder! The little baby was caught off guard, and didn’t know how to react.
“Gotcha Brat, let’s go!” the vullaby exclaimed.
“Right!” said Allin as he teleported out of the neighborhood, but not before Celeste got a glimpse of them when looking behind her.
“Nicky! Wait!” shouted Celeste.
The others turned around and saw that the young pup was missing, this caused great panic amongst the group. Angelina and her mother were frightened, while S’mores was saddened by this unfortunate incident. She couldn’t believe something like this happened on Halloween. All that was left behind was his candy bucket.
“Nickster?! Little brother?!” exclaimed Angelina.
“What happened to my son?! Who took my little boy away!?” shouted Ranae, which was heard by a passing Rose Patrol officer.
“What’s going on madam? Is everything alright?” asked the man.
“Officer, my son has gone missing…!” said the serperior.
“I saw a Vullaby, Abra, and Sneasel gwab his shwoulder before thwey suddenly vwanished!” said Celeste. “Those meanies…”
“It sounds like your son has been abducted… and I’ve heard about a certain vullaby that likes to cause trouble around here.” the officer said.
“It’s Ritha… she must’ve stolen my little brother away in an act of vengeance!” Angelina angrily shouted. “I swear… when I get my hands on that little brat…!”
“Ma’am, I know you're angry about this, but come with me quickly so we can file a missing person report at the Police Station!” the man said.
“Let’s go quickly!” said the ninetales.
Angelina and the others headed to the police station, making sure to grab Nick’s candy bucket on the way there. They had to find the pup before midnight, fearing that something terrible might happen to him!
Meanwhile inside of the Silver Mansion, the four children arrived inside of the Main Foyer after being teleported. Ritha looked around, and saw that her plan had flopped on its head. This little bird wasn’t very happy about it. The pup looked around the first floor of the building while Allin began to sweat a bit, realizing that a mistake was made.
The whole building was filled with cobwebs, and cracks in the wooden walls. The gray-marble floors remained undamaged. There was a wooden straight staircase to the second and third floor of the mansion, they were dusty. Along with this were some chairs and tables sitting by old book-shelves, dirty from all the accumulated dust and dirt over the years. Everything in this room was covered in it.
“Allin, you moron! You teleported us inside!” Ritha angrily shouted.
“I’m sorry… I didn’t mean to! I’m not perfect with teleporting yet…” said Allin.
“Where are we?” asked Nick.
“Welcome to the Silver Mansion, where a ghostly maid will trap you here forever!” answered Sethra. The young pup didn’t like the sound of that, and immediately started getting worried.
“I wanna go home! I want my momma! I want my sissy!” shouted the young pup as he teared up.
“You aren’t going home, you can cry all you want brat!” the vullaby said as she went over to Allin. “Get us out of here, now!”
“Alright, I’ll try… gather over to me.” the abra said.
The two other kids gathered by Allin and grabbed onto his shoulder, closing their eyes as they waited to be teleported back to Roseberry Way. The attempt was performed, but proven fruitless since he only moved them three inches away. It seems something was hindering the physic-type’s ability to escape.
“This isn’t working!” said Ritha. “Let’s try the entrance doors.”
The vullaby and sneasel approached the main doors, trying to push them open. This didn’t work either since they appeared to be locked tight from the inside and out. The wooden doors emitted a white glow for five seconds, before the light faded.
“Oh no… we're locked in. This wasn’t the plan!” said Sethra.
“Well… time to find another way out. Let’s go!” the dark bird exclaimed. “And you brat… stay here and don’t follow us!”
Being scared out of his mind, he didn’t say anything as he watched the three walk away from him. They didn’t want the pup hindering their search for an exit. The trio eventually headed into a long hallway with five doors on each side, leaving the pup by himself.
Nick sat on the dusty floor, whining to himself. He didn’t know what to do, or how to get out of this situation. All he could do was sit and whimper. The worst thing of all… he left his candy bucket behind when he got taken away. No candy to munch on. Five minutes later, the little baby heard a disembodied female voice speak to him. This terrified him a great deal.
“Hello? Is there a guest in the Main Foyer? Were you invited by the Parsons, sweetie?” spoke a disembodied female voice.
“I want to go home! I want my momma!” shouted the little fighting-type.
“It’s okay, everything is going to be okay! There’s no need to be afraid of me…” said the voice.
Nick watched as a silver sparkling spirit slowly materialized in front of him, it was a thirty-five year old woman in a maid uniform with long flowing hair and black tap shoes. The apparition looked at him and reached her transparent left hand out to greet him.
“Take my hand… it’s going to be alright little one!” said the female spirit.
“No! No!” the pup exclaimed as he backed up slightly.
“Why are you so afraid of me? I won’t hurt you… I promise!” she said.
“I want my sissy! Help! Help!” exclaimed Nick as he filled the back of his diaper in fear.
FRRRT! BLORT! SMURSH!
“It’s alright… I just want to help you!” said the ghost as she calmly walked over to him and gently placed her hand on his head. When she did this, the little baby started to relax as he sniffled a bit. It seems that the spirit’s touch had a calming effect on him.
“There we go, feeling better little one?” She asked.
“Ahuh, who… who are you?” the pup asked.
“I’m Sally, The Silver Maid. I’m the one that haunts this place, but not in the way others think.” said the gentle spirit. “Who are you, little one?”
“I- I- I’m Nicholas…” said Nick.
“Nicholas… that’s a nice name. You don’t need to be afraid, I can help you get out of here. You were forced to come here, by a group of troublesome kids.” said Sally as she picked up the baby. “While I can’t smell you, I can tell you need a diaper change by the lump in the back.”
“Okay then…” the pup answered as he was carried up the stairs while being held.
Back at the Striaton City Police Station, the gang had finished telling Officer Jenny about Nick being taken away from them. The officer was saddened by this incident, and wondered why a group of young kids would do this. She looked towards Ranae and stood up from her chair.
“Don’t worry Ma’am, I’ll call in every available officer to search for your little boy. If he’s in the city, we’ll find him!” said Officer Jenny.
“Thank you, Officer Jenny…” said Ranae in a dismayed tone.
“They’ll find him, I’m sure of it! Don’t lose hope!” said S’more.
“Cwan I help? I can twack his aura and find where its coming fwom.” said Celeste.
“Really? That’s interesting…” the officer said.
“It’s true, she has the ability to track any aura signals that are nearby if she’s close enough. She is an Umbreon and Eevee hybrid after all.” said the ninetales.
“Alright then… she can assist us with the search.” said Jenny as she grabbed the walkie talkie from her pocket. “This is Officer Jenny calling all officers on duties: we have a 10-65 in progress! Be on the lookout for a shiny riolu in a lucario onesie with a leather jacket and dark-blue fedora. Send out an Amber Alert across the city! I want a search perimeter established immediately!”
“10-4 Officer Jenny, we’ll get started on it!” said an officer.
“Affirmative, we will find this child!” said Jenny as she ended the call.
“My brother… my poor little brother…!” said Angelina.
Back at the Silver Mansion, Nick was brought into a bathroom and changed into an old-fashioned cloth diaper with straps held up by safety pins, being placed into his costume shortly after. The pup was happy to be in a clean nappy. He wasn’t afraid of the ghostly maid that was caring for him.
“There you go, nice and clean. Thank goodness we had changing supplies, how about I show you a bit of the mansion?” asked Sally.
“Yes please,” said Nick.
“Very good, come along now,” said Sally as she picked him up and carried the baby out of the bathroom. She walked through the long hall-way on the secondary floor. Nick looked at all the doors on each side of the hall. “Many years ago, this floor was reserved for guests and residents that lived in this mansion. Each door had a bedroom and bathroom in it. There’s even a playroom that little kids enjoyed back then. The first floor contains the dining room and kitchen, but is in desperate need of a clean-up. This mansion was built in the thirties, and many families have lived in it throughout the years.”
“Playroom?” the pup asked.
“Yes, it had plenty of toys for youngsters like you. Unfortunately, most of those toys were burned for firewood. This home is falling apart, and it will only have three more years until it turns to rubble. Even if it does… I will remain here since I’m tied to this place.” The Silver Maid explained.
“Why?” asked Nick.
“You see little one… I passed away in the seventies due to a nasty cold during the winter. Many doctors tried their best to treat my ailment, but nothing worked. When I died, I was buried in the backyard with the other servants that came before me. That’s why I am spiritually linked here. As long as my body remains here, my soul shall remain here.” answered Sally.
“Pardon me, Miss Sally!” exclaimed a man in a tuxedo and black shoes who materialized before them. He had gray curly hair with square reading glasses. “I have come across three troublemaking brats on the third floor. They claim to be searching for a way out.”
“Bring them to the playroom, Reginalt. We’ll let them go after we tell them about the Parson family.” said The Silver Maid.
“Right away, Miss.” said Reginalt as he floated into the air and right up to the third floor.
“Who?” the pup inquired.
“That was Reginalt, one of the butlers that served here long ago. He passed away when a grandfather clock crushed him by accident. Even in the afterlife, he’s still a sharp-man with great knowledge. Let me show you the grand dining room, you’ll love how it looks!” said Sally as she brought him to the first floor.
In Striaton City, S’mores and the rest of the group searched extensively. Making sure to look for any clues that might lead right to him. However… They couldn’t find anything that gave a clue to his sudden disappearance. It seems like the track had turned cold. The other children had also been added to the Amber Alert, since they were with Nick as he vanished.
“So far… we have no clues about where they could be. I have a theory though,” said Officer Jenny.
“What is it, Officer?” asked the grass snake.
“Since the kids had disappeared without much of a track, I feel like they teleported somewhere instead of walking or running. Especially with one of those children being an Abra, they are capable of learning to teleport. Which doesn’t leave a trail.” she replied.
“That has to explain everything, since we are having a hard time finding him,” said Ranae.
“We just need to keep searching!” said the ninetales.
“Let’s try searching Route 2, maybe we’ll find them there.” said Jenny.
“Is there anything important on that route?” asked Angelina.
“There is one building, the Silver Mansion. It’s been abandoned for years, but it’s worth checking. It’s rumored to be haunted by The Silver Maid.” the officer explained.
“Let’s Take To The Sky!” said Celeste.
The gang made their way down Route 2, heading in the direction of the abandoned building that was mentioned by Officer Jenny. As they walked, the Umbruvei felt a faint Aura Signal that was coming from the pup. It wasn’t filled with fear, but rather calm. She got excited as she jumped around.
“He’s close, he’s close! I can feel his aura!” said the umbruvei. “It’s faint, but it's a signal!”
“Good work, lead us right to the source!” said S’mores.
“Let’s go! Sky Flyer away!” said Celeste as she ran in the direction she was receiving the aura signal.
At the Silver Mansion, Sally had finished showing the Grand Dining Room and how it used to be the main area for parties being held. It had a large and wide dining table that could seat fifty-people at once. The chairs remained in the same place for many years. Portraits of every previous owner lined the walls.
“Well Nicky… what do you think? Pretty amazing, eh?” asked Sally.
“It’s cwool!” said the pup.
“I’m glad you liked it, now… let’s go meet with the troublesome trio up in the playroom.” said The Silvermaid.
After five minutes, Sally arrived in the playroom where the three other kids were sitting on the ground in only old-fashioned cloth diapers. Like the one Nick had on. They were grumpy about being caught, since these children just wanted to find the way out. Reginalt was in the room with them.
“Oh look, the brat’s back!” said Ritha.
“Yeah.. he’s back.” said Allin.
“Listen up, children. I’m going to tell you a story about the Parson family, and then I'll give you an important lesson before you’re allowed to leave. Is that clear?” asked Sally.
“Yes ma’am…” the children answered.
“Very good, now sit down and listen carefully.” she said as she placed the pup next to the other children. “In the seventies, I served a rich family called the Parson Family. The mother took care of her children while the father worked as a bank owner at Striaton City Bank. I was one of the servants that helped her, along with the many butlers she hired. After all… there were many servants that served before me.”
“Where is the family now?” asked Allin.
“Unfortunately little one… they had to move out a few months later due to financial struggles, especially with all those bills piling up. The bank that the father worked at had changed ownership. They had no choice but to move away to Hoenn, leaving all the servants behind. I’ve gotten letters from the family, telling me that everything is well in their new home. Which made me happy.” said Sally.
“What happened afterwards?” asked Sethra.
“Following that event, I remained at the mansion and kept the place in shape with the other butlers. To my dismay, I had gotten a serious cold during the month of December. The doctors tried to cure my sickness, but nothing was effective. I passed away two weeks later, before the holidays came. I was buried in the backyard with the other servants, those who had served before me. I never got the chance to live a full-life.” said The Silver Maid as she cried a little.
Ritha and the other children felt bad for the lady, and began to cry a bit in response. The spirit was pleased that the children had taken her story seriously as she nodded to herself. The butler in the corner of the room wiped his ghostly tears.
“Now, before I allow you children to leave… I shall impart some wisdom to you: Even with all the riches and possessions in the world, it’s only temporary. Memories are eternal, and will always remain in those who are alive. Life is one big journey, don’t rush through it. Enjoy it to the fullest.” said Sally.
“Yes ma’am!” said the children.
“Very good, now come along with me…” said the ghostly spirit as she brought them back to the Main Foyer.
Outside of the abandoned building, Officer Jenny along with the others were standing near the front entrance with the others. Celeste had led them here, and this was where the signal ended. The police officer had ordered extra police officers at the scene, just in case things got ugly. The parents of the other children were present as well.
“Ladies and gentlemen, the missing children are behind this door! Since we don’t have a key, we’ll need to bust it down!” said Officer Jenny.
“No worries, I’ll open the door!” said The Silver Maid as the entrance glowed for a bit before fully opening up. The female officer stood in surprise, it seems that the rumors were true. She watched as the calm spirit brought the children down the wooden steps, and placed them on the ground. “Go children, return to your parents.”
“Thankies!” said Nick as he ran to his mother. “Mama! Mama!”
“Nicky! My little boy!” exclaimed Ranae as she slithered over to her child, quickly lifting him up with her vines.
“Little brother! You’re okay!” shouted Angelina.
Officer Jenny looked towards The Silver Maid and gently approached her. She wanted to ask a few questions that related to the case. While this happened, Ritha returned to her father while the other two returned to their mothers. His daughter accidentally admitted to kidnapping the pup, which got disappointment from her father. Aside from that, Adrian was glad that she wasn’t hurt.
“So… you were keeping the children safe the whole time?” Officer Jenny asked.
“I have been, especially that little puppy. He’s more behaved compared to the other children.” said Sally.
“Alright, and did they get in by teleporting?” She inquired.
“I’d whole-heartedly agree, after all… me and the other butlers have kept that door locked for years.” she answered.
“Alright then, thanks to your assistance! This case is now concluded!” the officer answered.
“I must go now, please… stay safe this Halloween.” said the Silver Maid as she re-entered the mansion and closed the entrance door as it was locked up once again.
“Oh Nicky, me and mom were so worried about you!” said the grass snake. “This halloween party will be a big celebration for your safety!”
“Yay!” exclaimed the pup.
“I hwelped find you, by twacking your aura.” said Celeste. “I’m a big hwero!”
The serperior put her son down and watched as the pup ran up to the Umbrevui, giving her a big hug. He was happy that his new friend was able to find him, the little baby was filled with joy!
“One other thing, Nickster. We saved your bucket of candy, it’s waiting for you back at home!” said Ranae.
Upon hearing that, the little pup yelped happily as he stopped hugging Celeste and ran over to his sister to give her a hug as well. The grass snake smiled and accepted it instantly, she had worried about the condition of her little brother. Now she had him back!
After the case was solved, The Marbettes headed home to start up their Halloween Party. They even invited Celeste and S’more to it as well, which they accepted in a heartbeat. The three other children were grounded for a few weeks, hoping that it’d teach them not to kidnap someone just for the sake of revenge. The rest of the night went smoothly, with the little pup being able to enjoy his candy.
