Our flag...funny thing - it might not have ever existed if not for a small pup captivated by the banners and standards of Human armies on their way to what they term the 'Holy Land'. We told ourselves we didn't need this egotistical Human thing, but...you can't say 'no' to someone with those eyes, shining with the desire to see his crude slate painting made reality. So here our banner waves - black for the expanses beyond the boundaries of the world and the darkness that cloaks our hunts, olive green for the natural aspects of the Earth we inhabit as well as the trees that are a major part of our economy, and silver...well, I hope the shape makes it obvious. Anyway, as I stare at this new symbol of our nation, I find myself overcome with a feeling I never thought I'd ever feel staring at a piece of dyed cloth: Pride. EDIT 1/19/24: Added an updated version of the flag with more appropriate colors showing these 'werewolves' used to be Greek humans and a silvery moon instead of a pure white one. Also made it a vectorized design after finally figuring out how to use Inkscape. Decided to leave the old one since I can have multiple images in a single post here unlike FA, where I did replace the old one
And another bit of lorebuilding for my civilized werewolf setting a few weeks after the last one, this time showing the flag of the Lycadians (a combination of Lycaon, the progenitor of the species/Lykocephalus, the name of the species/the word 'lycan' and Arcadia, the land Lycaon ruled before his infection by (in my universe) an extraterrestrial retrovirus introduced via a pack of infected wolves - and continued ruling after, along with a good portion of the rest of the Peloponnese - you'll notice a very common theme among naming conventions for a lot of things in this universe, and that is the concept of KISS, or Keep It Simple Stupid!).
Yes, I am aware it has heavy elements of Arabic/Islamic flags - no, this is not a religious nation nor related to Arabs in any way, those just happen to be the colors I chose.
And a bunch of other information to go along with it:
Head of State/Government title: Primarch Form of Government: Constitutional Monarchy (this may change - not sure it precisely fits what I have in mind for how things work...not that I really know that myself) Capitol City: Lycosura Official Language: Lycadian (basically Greek with regional differences and more guttural-sounding words) Official Religion: None (essentially Atheist, but allows personal worship of any and all religions and observance of religious practices that don't infringe on anyone else's rights or cause harm to other sapient beings - so no human sacrifice; sorry Aztecs) Official Currency: Luna (paper), Cresk, Gibbon, and Mun (pre-paper currency and made of lead (replaced with tin when lead's toxicity was discovered, as even though it doesn't cause them issues at all, they didn't just use this currency among themselves), nickel and silver respectively) Economic Model: Mixed Capitalism/Socialism (think United Federation of Planets if they actually HAD money and an economy that isn't basically energy-based) Population: 1,391,000 (approx. circa 2023 - all the insane benefits of being what is basically a permanent werewolf (a PROPER werewolf, not the Hollywood plague rats getting gunned down by the hundreds - even one is a serious threat to dozens of Human soldiers and this hasn't changed overly much in over 2,000 years, even with things like machineguns, high explosives and flamethrowers closing the gap) comes with a few major drawbacks - one being very slow birthrates...twins are so rare that when they happen, the entire village/hamlet/town/city/etc. celebrates it)
