Character Sheet for It's a secret~ (Rooterrin Ana)
Nickname(s)
"Root"
Sex/Gender
You can't tell~ (probably a chick tho)
Species
Hexblood, the DnD version of the changeling
Age
Unknown (probably 18)
Character Description
Not a murderhobo; they're a psychopathic killer.
There's a difference~
Personality
Root is that weird kid that grew up feared and rejected by the other kids for biting the heads off of birds and cutting roadkill up out of curiosity.
However, despite that they have the essence of the literal God of Murder in their veins, Root do try their best to be a good person and to help people out. Root just want to belong.
Sadly, they're not only unsettling to behold; they tend to be quiet for the most part, apart from... weird, comments from time to time, and they have the impulsive tendency to go over the top when it comes to flatten enemies. And the fact that they keep hearing the voice of their father urging them to kill doesn't help.
Likes/Dislikes
Likes; blood, guts and glory. Also puns.
Dislikes; soap and bullies
Background/History
A humble couple living remotely in the shadow of a mountain, a human and a half-elf, were elated when they found out they were expecting their first child. And even more so when their baby was born, healthy and perfect in every way.
With both of them working in the woods around them, earning their living by wood logging, light hunting, herbal producing, and the like, they would always bring their baby along. Keeping a watchful eye on it every day, all day. Feeling protective and doting over their most beloved treasure.
Except for this one time...

In a rare moment when both parents had their backs turned, distracted by their work, their baby was taken by a wretched creature, and replaced with its own.
The babies were identical, and so the parents noticed nothing was wrong. At first.

But as the baby grew, something was clearly off with "their" beloved child.
Slowly they began to show... concerning traits, which grew more and more serious as the years progressed.

Their child was avoided by both animals and other children from the neighboring village; claiming they were "weird" and "freaky".
They early grew a strong need to keep their face and head covered. Usually using bags, sheets and masks to wear, and whenever someone tried to remove their headcovering the child would lash in a violent hysteria. As if uncovering their head would result in a painful death...

ut that wasn't the worst. The worst and most concerning action of all were the killings of small animals.
It began with bugs and spiders, the child would squish them any chance they got with a disturbing gleeful eager.

But then it escalated to birds, rats, squirrels, and the like. The poor critters would be killed and mutilated.
But it was like the child was conflicted about their own nature, because the way the parents would find out was because they would find them cradling what was left of the critters, bawling hysterically in guilt and regret.

The parents were struggling with their troubled child. They tried to shower them with love and support, give them consequences after they committed harm, sought out professional help, but nothing seemed to work.
The parents became desperate, and began to turn to magic.
They found a warlock, and that is when the awful truth of their child was uncovered;

They were not only not their biological child; they were the result of the unholy union of a hag and a  wicked, unspeakably evil deity; Bhaal, the Ravager.

This child grew up to become known only as "Root".
Root tried to become the child their parents had always wanted and longed for, but their violent impulses and unpredictable nature just made it hard for anyone to let Root near. And their parents just couldn't accept the hag's offspring which had been replaced with their own baby.

Not understanding why or how,  Root decided to set into the world. Hoping to redeem themselves for whichever crime their true parents had committed, believing themselves to somehow be responsible for it.
While also finding the connection to their father, becoming a follower in his name, and whatever did become of their "sibling"...
Relatives/Family
A mom and dad who ended up "reverse surprise adopting"
But their blood parents is a forest hag named Flora, and the Lord of Murder, The Ravager Himself; Bhaal.
World/Setting
the post-post-apocalyptic fantasy world of the server's official DnD campaign
Body
Root is always covered in head to toe so it's hard to tell what they really look like, but their body is clearly slim and lithe. They're a little on the shorter side, standing at most 160 cm/5f 2", and moves almost a little jittery.
Clothing
A lighter gambeson/chainmail/tunic combo, clearly looted from a corpse. A cloak, hood, lighter gauntlets and boots. All their clothes are tattered and dirty, and there's an unsettling amount of what's probably dried blood.
They also have an obsession with horns and antlers, so they like to decorate with them. Which can be seen on their weapons.

Also, they always wear a carved mask of a skull. No one has seen their face, and doing so will probably result in getting a solid iron ball flail inbetween the eyes.
And then there are a pair of curved, root-like horns sticking up through the hood, but it's hard to tell if they come from the mask, the hood, or their head.
Accessories
Weapons;
A homemade-looking flail with a solid iron ball at the end of its chain and a bunch of antler chunks bolted on. Their wooden shield has definitely seen better days and was very likely taken from someone who got severely mauled by a much larger creature.
A crossbow which, much like the flail, looks like it was put together with random branches and antlers (not pictured)

An item they use to call upon Bhaal's power is a piece of broken off antler hanging around their neck. The antler somehow always look fresh and bloody, as if it was just broken off.
