Tails argues with Shadow. He doesn’t want to believe Sonic won’t go along with his plan.
He thinks back to telling Sonic about his dream of making the Grim a home for both of them. And he remembers his time in captivity, forced to slave away making shatter drive tech for the Egg council. All the while holding out hope he could escape and be with Sonic again. Only to be told he wasn’t the ‘real’ Tails by Sonic himself.
He just couldn’t accept it. His plan was perfect, he and Sonic were going to live happily together in the Grim. He’ll do anything to make that a reality. Sonic is a fool who just doesn’t understand. But Nine believes he knows what’s best for his friend, and he’ll use any means necessary to get his ‘happy ending’.
