Character Description
Sir Chaytel Solverre (pronounced Shay-tell Soul-vair) is a knight in the service of the Acorn family. Although somewhat unassuming looking, he possesses great skill, as well as reflexes and strength that mysteriously seem to exceed a normal Mobian's. Devoted to the service of the royal family, he became a sometimes-bodyguard for Princess Sally Acorn, potentially the last living member of her family, after much insistence on his part.
Personality
Chay is an intelligent and polite young man, with a deep, character-defining sense of loyalty. Although he doesn't always understand the big picture, or see solutions past fighting, he remains true to his country and friends and gladly fights for the cause. His all-consuming goal is to restore the monarchy to Mobius and return to the ordered world he dreams of, and that means the Freedom Fighters must be victorious. Chay takes the protection of Princess Sally very seriously, sometimes to her irritation, and always to the dislike of Sonic, who has increasingly become a rival. Although he believes it improper, he cannot always hide his budding feelings for Princess Sally Acorn, due to his closeness to her as a bodyguard and friend.

He has a tendency to stand on ceremony and tradition quite a lot, which makes him difficult to work with at times, but his intentions are only respectful.

Background/History
Chaytel Solverre was the only child of Jacques and Marie-Yvette Solverre, a pair of nobles in the royal court during the days of the Great War. When Mobotropolis and the Acorns fell, his parents were killed in the coup, leaving Chaytel to flee with but a few of his things and wander at a young age. Eventually, his lonely travels took him to an isolated cemetery. Tired and alone, he'd found the dilapidated remains of the royal cemetery. He had engrossed himself in his father's books of chivalry and tales of knighthood to escape his grief and confusion, and so he took it upon himself to restore, tend, and protect the resting place of the royal family, eventually deluding himself into believing he was already a real knight like his father.

It was only much later, upon a chance encounter with the Knothole Freedom Fighters, that he met other Mobians again. Initially distrustful, his attitude soon changed upon discovering the identity of the young lady in the group and he quickly pledged his undying loyalty to a very confused Sally Acorn. Believing that service to the living was more important than the dead, he packed his few personal belongings and joined them on the return to Knothole, where he served the cause loyally.

Drawn to the princess, his aptitude, skill, and strength made him a useful friend, and eventually protector. Some months into joining the Freedom Fighters, he saw her through a life-threatening encounter in Robotropolis and became her unofficial bodyguard. Sally took it upon herself to grant his dream of official knighthood. Before long, his lords-and-ladies chivalrous nature led him to fall in love with her. Though she had to let him down gently, their friendship and professional life remained unharmed.

Months later, Chay developed a severe physical weakness, soon becoming comatose. The Freedom Fighters search for a way to help their friend eventually led them to Dr. René Renard, a geneticist who served the king during the war. After much coaxing, she revealed the truth, that the boy they knew was never named Chaytel Solverre, and wasn't the son of a knight. He was designated RGS-01, and he was a 'Genetic Preform Soldier', a clone. He was in a coma because he was designed not to produce a specific neurotransmitter in his brain. Without receiving it as a supplement, he was designed to slip into a coma and die as a safety precaution.

When she had been younger, Dr. Renard had had an affair with Sir Jacques Solverre. Although she loved him, she, like his wife, was barren. She could never give him a child, the only thing he wanted in the world. Soon after, Jacques was selected to be a genetic template for a top secret super-soldier project, born of desperation at the worst part of the war. The plan was to clone the best and brightest, and create augmented copies; much faster and stronger, conditioned to mindlessly obey the royal family and serve as bodyguards, assassins, and soldiers. René used her influence to create a special prototype, a clone of Jacques, but programmed with the memories of a childhood and a life all his own to believe that he was Jacques' son. The coup happened before RGS-01 was activated, and he spent years forgotten in a stasis tube in some lost underground lab. When the power finally failed, he woke, and armed with only half-finished memories, he found his home, found some things of his 'father', and wandered off to find an Acorn to obey. He got as far as the cemetery.

Although she felt remorse for creating him, Dr. Renard believed it was better to let him die than to live with what he really was. In the end, she was convinced to synthesize the chemical needed, and he woke. His friends could not keep the truth from him.

Finding out has made Chaytel a different person. Although he still serves as loyally as ever, he is much more sullen and quiet. He refers to himself like an object rather than a person, and it remains to be seen what he will do with his life, now that he knows who he is.
Relatives/Family
Jacques Solverre, Presumed Father (Roboticized/Deceased)
Marie-Yvette Solverre, Presumed Mother (Deceased)

Dr. René Renard, Creator (Missing/Presumed Deceased)
World/Setting
Chay exists as a fan-character within the SatAM/Archie Sonic universe.
Body
Chay has the average build for a slightly tall Mobian, with an athletic leanness. His fur is a bright, russet red, with cream-colored markings, and black gloves and socks. His eyes are bright green. He keeps his hair long, and pulls it back into a ponytail.
Clothing
Chay has many copies of the same outfit, which he wears every day; white tunic, gray pants, leather boots and belt. His gauntlets and sabatons are worn for missions and combat, as well as a protective undersuit.
Accessories
His red scarf is precious to him, as he believed it was a gift from his mother. His belt buckle is a decorative acorn symbol.

His sword, Valentine was the weapon his 'father' used, presented by the king during the Great War. It is an exquisitely made blade, with a gold plated and red velvet basket handle. The pink, heart-cut diamond on the front which gave the blade it's name is considered virtually peerless in size and clarity.

The weapon itself is a highly advanced 'vibrosword' that instantly matches the harmonic frequency of anything the blade touches, allowing it to slice through cleanly no matter the material.

That is a really engrossing character. I will admit though, he kind of reminds me of Nine, though I have a feeling that is possibly intentional. Either way he is a pretty awesome character^^

He's certainly similar, but Chay predates Nine by a very long time. I am glad you like him!

...v.v Aww...

Personality clashes!

A very engrossing and captivating backstory, and I do admire the weapon.  He sounds rather peerless in close-quarters-combat.

He is a terrifyingly good swordsman. His augmented reflexes give him reaction times on par with Sonic's, minus the superspeed. He's practiced with that sword all day, every day of his life since he picked it up.

It's devastating to him to find out that his skill is all an illusion, and he was designed to be that good even if he'd never seen a sword before.

Hmn..personally I wonder that he doesn't have issues with 'implanted' loyalty and affection, and what that may imply for his free will...

He has a lot of issues, especially with that. Once he and Sally  understand that he physically can't disobey her, she's much, much more careful about how she speaks to him, and it goes a long way towards restoring his sense of  freedom.

Damn..the old tried and true humor milkings of 'go jump in a lake' or 'get lost'...or the turn for a morbid with a playful 'drop dead' shan't be seen...

Even better is when she becomes an evil robot. He's kind of forced onto team badguy against his will.

..Oh.  Great.  There's no 'Acorn giving orders under duress' genetic escape clause.

Well, that's what prototypes are for, working out bugs!  Kind of disturbing to see a living, feeling being in that light though.
