You can't catch a break because you keep buying from Acme. Find another supplier, maybe on Amazon or EBay. Avoid the cheapest ones in any category, and make sure it's returnable, Just In Case.

But here's the real truth:
1. The top speed of a roadrunner is 20MPH. Coyotes can run 35MPH or more. Just chase him and grab him.
2. Except... Roadrunners are not flightless. They usually prefer to outrun predators, but if you get too close he's likely to go airborne. So maybe you do need a rifle or something. Buy from a reputable gun store, not some mail-order outfit whose name starts with "A". Those are sucker bait.
