One of the earliest land mounts you're likely to acquire aside from Rushoar and Eikthyrdeer, Melpaca is visually rather unique. To me it looks something akin to a super-hero with its cute little boots and gloves. Given it supposedly has a supersonic kick to send you flying as well, I wouldn't be opposed to a Melpaca super hero. Looks aside, Melpaca can serve a dual purpose as an okay mount and as a source of wool when assigned to a ranch. They travel in pairs and whilst they will try to flee, they will not hesitate to us their exclusive move 'Fluffy Tackle' on any would-be attackers.
I kind of love them.
