Lackadaisy Doolittle Raid 2/3
Last in pool
Based On True Events and inspired by Lackadaisy. The day is the 18th of April, 1942. After the attack on Pearl Harbor, the United States declared war on the Japanese Empire, thrusting the country into the Second World War. In retaliation, the US plans a secret mission led by Lt. Cmdr. Jimmy Doolittle and supplied with retrofitted B-25 bomber planes to accomplish something that has never been done before… attack the Japanese mainland. should they succeed they’ll be the first official threat to Japan since Kublai Khan.
The targets are a number of munitions factories in Tokyo and the surrounding prefectures. After being spotted by a small spy boat, the pilots are forced to launch off the USS Hornet 200 miles early, but despite this the mission is a success. The majority of the pilots are eventually forced to bail out or crash land when their fuel runs out, all but two planes make it to China, with one landing in Russia and the other captured by the Japanese military. Here, Rocky and his cousin Freckle find themselves in the Chinese wilderness after said mission where they encounter guerrillas of the Chinese military. In time, they will return to the US as heroes and the event will come to be known as the Doolittle Raid.
This is meant to be read like a manga. Page 3/3
