The next day we laid low a bit in the morning as we heard sirens go off near us. After a little snooping around we found out that a police report was filed from the break in of that house. From what was my fault with the window and scorch mark in the wall, to what those two cats did to the guys room.

Gonna say this, those two worked fast in tearing everything up with their claws. The bed, drapes, and over half his clothes were coated in claw marks. The family that owned that house had to pack up and stay elsewhere because the house was now under investigation for this incident. That and also two of the kids were complaining how bad their older brother's room smelled. This may have been whatever Gab did in there. Given that those two are cats, I'm leaning more on the angry urine thing.

If you don't know what this means, that means you never owned a cat. The real thing that they do is much more disgusting. Trust me.

Grabbing a stick, I poked at the fire we were sitting at with a makeshift spit resting above the flames with two bass skewered into it. "So, because of last night those two are possibly laying low as well. We know they have multiple locations to stash stuff." Kitsuno nods and stretches her arms a bit. "Where any of them are unfortunately is still unknown to us."

She moves over to the skewer to flip it over. "The bigger question now is, how are we going to stop these two? They clearly are more trouble than they should be. Heck, even we don't go that far to destroying property." As I pull the stick away from the fire and sat it down next to me, I thought for a moment. "What about that one woman that owned that flower shop?"

Kitsuno stared into the fire a bit before looking at me. "Let's not talk about that insane woman. Let's just be glad that human is no longer in this town." I can agree to that. Crazy Flower Lady was a nickname she had around here. There was a bit of an incident that we came across with her and her shop.

To say that some people are relieved that she was gone is an understatement. And this was from overhearing a conversation from two firefighters when we were petting one of their dogs. She was that bad.

Leaning back against the dirt mound I was sitting on, I look up put in the distances across the river. I began to think over on their next hit if they were going to do it. "We can try to find them again and follow them. Might help lead to one of their stashes." Kitsuno turns the fish again over the fire as it was starting to get a little crispy. "I would have to be extra careful to not get caught since I can't transform like you can. But remember, they have seen you before."

"Yeah but they probably got the idea that I was just a wild animal or something. I could scout ahead again when we find these two so they are none the wiser." I then reach forward to grab the skewer with the fish and pull it off to let it cool. "There is also one other thing I am more concerned about finding out about. Not sure how much those two know, but it would be worth finding out." Kitsuno moves closer to me and sits down as she looks back towards the forest. "Your talking about the cult thing they mentioned, right?"

Nodding, I raise my right hand and focus some magic into it. "Shade, please be careful with your magic, I don't want our food getting blown up or froze." I roll my eyes a bit, "Relax. We are out here where no one will really see. Plus I may as well practice to get better so I don't cause another fireball mishap." She shakes her head before grabbing her fish off the skewer and pulling it off. "We should be lucky you didn't start a fire."

Bright sparks flicker from my hand and I force it outwards. "I know, I know." With some more concentration, I let loose a small burst of flames from my hand. The bright red flames flailed about in the air a bit before disappearing and I flatten my ears a bit. "Why am I casting fire spells? I was focusing more on lightning."

"Maybe it's your fiery personality sis? You can be a little hot headed sometimes." Kitsuno blows on her fish before taking a bite out of it. I lower my hand towards my fish and pick it up to start eating myself. "I guess, but I need to figure this stuff out more if we want to take better advantage of it. My feral transformation will only get us so far."

The two of us wandered around the forest for a while, aside from piles of clothes and empty wallets from previous thefts of those two, we haven't seen much of them lingering around. One of the piles of clothes we did find was recent as one of the shirts smelled of wet cat and fish. Gotta eat what you can find I guess. Though, given the fish that reside in the local area, most of them are pretty tasty. Especially the catfish Kitsuno and I caught one time a few months ago. It was huge and very fatty. Made a great stew to enjoy.

Anyways, back on track of things. Eventually we tried venturing into the city and this was where things became a little tricky. Like we discussed, it wouldn't be so likely of those two to wander the city very easily because of them vandalizing someone's room of a house that got compromised by a mistooken armed robbery. We had to think on where they would try stealing some stuff where nobody would have the most attention at.

We kept on looking around the town for the rest of the day to see if we could manage to find them. Unfortunately we didn't have much luck as wherever we headed to, it was crowded or was empty. Aside from the few incidents that have happened, some being because of those two cats, some by the locals. And maybe one by me, but Kit doesn't know about that.

Night fell upon us as we kept the search going a little bit longer. Kitsuno and I ended up stopping at a park to rest our feet for a bit and see if we could spot Gab or Jake should they manage to appear in said park. Today has been a bit of an unproductive day sadly with no real gain in finding hidden stashes.

Looking up as the moon got covered in clouds, I give off a small yawn before getting up from the tree we were resting under. "Well, guess we aren't seeing those two today." Kitsuno rubs her eyes a bit as she gets up and stretches her back a bit. "We may as well try searching the forest again tomorrow. We'd probably have higher odds to stumble across their stuff."

"Probably. I just want to know where their main stash is so we can see if they still have that statue." We started walking out of the park and glanced around occasionally just in case. Kitsuno looks over across the street we were passing and spotted a poster hanging about with a reward symbol on it. "Hey Shade, was there always a wanted poster there?"

She points over to the pole and I look over to it. I stopped to look at the road to watch for any vehicles coming by before we both crossed over to the poster. Said poster was a reward for finding the statue that Gab and Jake stole. From what the statue looked like was of a woman wearing some sort of robe like attire. Though, the image is hard to tell since it was in black and white.

Grabbing the poster and tearing it off the pole, I rolled it up and stuffed it into my shirt. "We'll keep this handy for now. It's not much to work on because of the color, but it gives us a better idea of what to grab when we find where it is." And with that, we continued walking our way out of the city and towards the forest to camp out somewhere for the night.

When we reached the outskirts of the main part of the city and started entering into the suburban parts, that's when I heard movement behind us. As much as I would have put it off as some rando having a nightly stroll, this part of the neighborhood is usually in bed by now. My ears twitch slightly as I paid attention to their footsteps. They seem to be picking up their pace to catch up to us.

Staying close to Kit, I nudged along her as a signal that we were being tailed. She understood and we kept up at a strong pace as we continued walking. Immediately as soon as we turned a corner around someone's house both of us started running. This seemed to have spurred on our pursuers as I heard their footsteps trying to catch up to us the moment we bolted.

Kitsuno and I look at each other before nodding and we split up between the next house and I took the path towards the backyard while Kit cut across the road to a different house. From the sound of things, I seemed to have gotten the attention of one of our pursuers and I narrowly jumped over a couple flower beds as I made my way across the yard. Quickly as I made my way out, I kept on running towards the forest before seeing Kitsuno making her way around from the house she ran by. She was unfortunately being tailed by the other one. Soneone wearing a dark hoodie and black jeans.

The one chasing me was getting closer somehow as I felt their hand swipe against my tail as they try to grab it. Quickly I dive down onto the ground as I evade another grapple attempt on my tail. Rolling forward a bit before lunging my weight back, I caused the one who was chasing me to trip over me and fall onto the ground. Getting up and looking at the one who was chasing me, I tried to see who it was, but the freak had their face covered with the same hoodie their accomplice was wearing.

They started to get up so I started running again, this time towards Kitsuno as the other person was about to grab her. Right before they did, I charge forth and tackle them in the side. This causes them to stagger and lose focus on my sister and keep their focus on me. As we both regain our footing, this is short lived as their companion tackles me and the three of us land hard onto the ground.

I try to get back up but I was being sandwiched between these two mysterious freaks. The one on top of me gets up and tries to restrain my arms behind my back. As we stood back up, they soon let go as a sickening crack is heard. Before the other one could stand up, I am grabbed by Kit as we continue to run.

Hidding around in the brush, we both watched as the two chasers had tried looking everywhere for us. We made our way deep into the forest and with some of the bends and hiding points we know of, we managed to give those two the slip. The one thing that was off putting about these two is that they said nothing. Even when Kitsuno took a wooden chair and smashed it against one of them to get me out of their grasp, not a noise of pain.

The way they dressed too was unusual as well, their clothes were covered in black paint. Their faces are hard to figure out as well as they must be wearing black on their faces as well. Could this be some of the cultists members that we heard about?

Slowly we moved away from the bush and snuck around the trees to avoid being detected by them again. Kit and I made our way out towards the river and we started to catch our breath. "God damn, that was something. Thanks for the save back their sis." She looks back to the part of the forest we walked out of. "Shade, I think we need to get across the river and hide out elsewhere. Those two seemed persistent in trying to capture us for some reason."

Nodding in agreement, I started moving into the water and wadded through as I felt the current brush around my waist. Kitsuno followed behind closely just in case one of us slipped. I look behind for a moment to see how she was doing until my eyes shot open. Right at the river edge I saw those two. One of them pointing at us and they started to charge into the water.

Immediately grabbing Kitsuno by her waist, I lifted her up off her feet and sped up. I ended up tripping on a rock at the other end of the river and she fell onto the ground while I faceplanted in the water. Quickly getting up, I scramble out of the water before they got closer and tried to run with Kit. Though these guys seem to move fast as I tripped again because my tail got grabbed by the one in the river.

My foot made a swift reaction and I kicked them in the face. This prompted them to let go and I got back up and darted into the woods to follow Kit as she was waiting. Once we were back together, we kept running before either one of us got grabbed again.

Though throughout our escape, we stumbled upon a small camp like area and tripped over onto a sleeping cat. My face landed on something plump as Kitsuno landed close to the fire. "Hey, what the hell!?" Lifting my head up and shaking it, I see that I landed face first into Jake's torso. Looking back quickly was Gab, who was slightly aggravated that we stumbled on her when we teetered into their slumber.

Gab rubbed her side before glaring at us. "Do you two mind? We've had a long day and are trying to sleep. Go bother someone else." I felt Jake's hands on my head and he shoves me off him. "Watch where you land too. That hurt." As I roll off of him and I was met with the dirt floor, Kitsuno gets up and rubs her cheek before she freezes as a large snap is heard. This draws all of our attention as we look in the direction of the noise as it intensifies. "Gab, get up and grab the stuff. We need to go!"

Gab scrambles over on top of me to grab a bag that was next to a pile of sticks and the two got up and bolted out of their camp. I got back onto my feet and brushed myself off before Kit grabs my arm so we can start running as well. I caught a glimpse of both of them bursting through the vegetation before we turned a corner.

Fox and Cats: Prologue
Kitsuno and Gab

Shade, focus on things please. Cause I think we have bigger things to worry about.

Also we know that this chapter is a bit weird and possibly not the greatest. Things got in the way.
