Paperwork was torn apart and the glass on the door was cracked. Shade was not having it today with what had happened with some of the equipment in the lab we worked in. Not only was it missing to begin with, but then it was found. Broken, decallibrated, and stained. We got yelled at for not keeping our stuff in order and in good condition to work with. What our so called plant manager doesn't seem to understand is that everyone else just comes and takes our stuff without permission.

This year has not gotten any better throughout time and a couple other good people we knew that actually listened quit or went missing. Though what angered us more is the fact that the obviously overfilled positions of the plant kept getting more and more people. We got nothing except more complaints and work to do. Shade is still fuming after Melissa got fired for supposedly stealing from the cafeteria and that she was caught giving Shade a blowjob somewhere.

I know those two more than any of these stupid ignoramuses and while they do indulge in sexual acts a lot, they both agreed that a place like this is the last place they would try anything. And I wholeheartedly agree after seeing what someone did to the restroom. Not just the females, but the males as well. To say that all three of us took a hot shower or two after we got out of the place for the night was an understatement.

Looking out the window right now, one of the machines was wide open with some mechanics inside working on the issues that were called for earlier. I saw someone dragging along a vaccum barrel to clean up the oil leak on the floor. At least on the bright side, that machine specifically will be down for the rest of the shift. My ears twitch as a loud hissing noise emits from another machine nearby and one of the mechanics went towards the machine before it stopped to tend to the issue befote it gets worse.

Would be real nice if this place shut down properly to fix everything. A few days of going cold does nothing. That's how we ended up with so many orders behind and losing customers all because we never shut down. This place is legit taking working twenty-four seven too far. Things will break, and even worse, still runs while broken and nobody says anything.

I look back at the cart that was behind me that held some of the samples Shade and I picked up. Some of them were bad because of some parts falling out of place in some of the machines, or the program decided to flip and thin out some spots. Shade even had to get on someone about the leak detection chambers not even working as it shut itself off in the program.

Rubbing my head and letting out a small yawn, I rest myself on the desk a bit. This was when the door bursts open and one of the packers walks right in with no authority and places a bottle on the desk in front of me. "Is this thin?" This... was the fourth time. For the same machine. Lifting myself up, I grab the bottle and move it closer to the measurement device and begin using it on the sides of the bottle. The usual spots of it being on the upper parts of it to where it was thin. "Yes, it's out by ten thousandths, they need to get this fixed asap." He then takes the bottle back out onto the floor and heads back to his machine. Completely ignoring the supervisor on his way back out there.

This was where Shade appears from around a corner and she was not happy at all. Given what's going on right now, I don't blame her one bit. She walks pass the lab doors and heads off into a different direction. I was a little confused to what she was doing but figured she may have left to go check on the freezer in the back.

Given that there was still some time to go collect the next set, I put on my ear muffs and safety glasses to head out the door onto the floor. My eyes caught someone else coming to the lab to ask for something to get checked again and I quickly made my way towards the door to the back area to make it seem I had something else important to do. Which I did. Making sure my sister is okay.

We had a bunch of bottles sitting back here before heading to break because we had finished the water pressure tests and it had passed. Next came the freezer tests which can be the biggest pain in the ass. I looked around for Shade and saw that the big cart that was back here was right next to the freezer. The door swings open with a leg following forth as she had kicked the door opened and was dragging a fifteen gallon drum out that had fluid in it.

Rushing over to her, I helped her drag the drum out to lift it onto the cart. This was an ordeal as it felt heavier than usual. "Shade, this feels heavier. Any reason why?" She blankly stares at the barrel for a moment. "Oh you have to be fucking kidding me." She then places a gloved hand over the metal vent cap on the opening and twisted it until it popped open. We peered inside and immediately Shade walks away from the cart as she was growing warm with rage. Inside the bottle wasn't the designated liquid used for the freezer. No, not fully. It was a mass of slush and ice again.

Groaning, I slap the cap back onto the drum and walk towards the freezer to look inside. I wish I didn't cause it was a mess. Wherever the rest of the fluid, if there was any real fluid left that us, was all buried behind other empty test bottles that nobody knows how to clear out, and or any other mess some other people like shoving inside the freezer. The other thing that always bugged us was when holidays came around the corner and a chemical ladened freezer suddenly becomes food storage. What in the actual fuck?

"Shade... please tell me there is fluid in the pump." I look over at her and she was just glarring heavily at the upstairs portion of the building. "I'll take that as a no." Taking a look at the drum and then looking over to the pump area with more bottles than proper usable fluid, I shake my head before I started digging through the mess in the freezer.

About two hours later of tending to that mess and getting the test samples implemented into the freezer, we both went outside to eat. Because of how cold it has gotten as winter was drawing near, nobody really went outside, which was a good thing for us as it gave us some actual time to think. Aside from the constant ringing of the overhead speakers when a phone went off to call someone to a machine.

Looking off into the darkened sky, and being able to think for a moment, I starting thinking on what we should do next. The longer we stay here the worse it will be, and I know she knows this. I just don't know where we need to go. We could try to see if we can find Onn again, he might be able to help us again.

Except where to look exactly is the question. It was right around the time we came back from freelance work in the northern territories where we came back to this city to see how it has expanded in three years for the worst. Jasmine even took off herself because of how rent in the area was getting and even with her own agendas in mind, she couldn't stay here much longer.

My thoughts were interrupted as the speaker system echoed sharply due to someone not hanging up the phone. I quickly covered my ears, Shade on the other hand covered her entire head with her arms and slammed her face into the table. "God fucking damnit! Why can't none of you assfucks learn how to use a fucking phone properly!?" To say my sister has anger issues is one thing, but if you worked in a place with such a wonderful set of staff members like this, you will understand why.

The echoing eventually stopped and we both uncovered ourselves from that. Then the alarms started going off for one of the machines that triggered the pager to let everyone know that the compressors are malfunctioning. Then, in the middle of it the pager went off again, "Water overflow on thirty-nine!"

"Water overflow... that is a brand new machine. How can you all screw up this badly!?" Shade groans and grabs her food that she bought to eat. I just shook my head and took a sip from my tea. Best of what we could do is just to use our break as much as we needed to. Since we could never do the actual break system we have because of how chaotic it gets.

This was just getting to the point where we were done. It was becoming way too much for the both of us. Shade finished her food quickly before we both got up and put our ear muffs on to head back inside. Not long after going in, we saw the water gushing out of a machine in the distance. Along with a destroy chunk of metal.

I looked at my sis and she just ignored what we just saw and walked back into the lab. Following behind her, I saw that a supervisor was coming up to the lab. We let him in and he takes his earplugs off. "So, turns out the people on dayshift put the wrong inserts in on machine thirty-two. Everything we ran needs to go on hold. We're working on changing it over to the right ones right now and we'll bring you up more pieces."

We both stared at him as he puts his earplugs back in and walks out the door. That machine spits out stuff like nobodies business and is a major pain to keep up on testing. And we had to redo everything again.

Shade reaches into her pocket to pull out her wallet and pulls out her badges and throws them across the room. "I quit." She then walks out the door and heads towards the back. I look over to her badges as I walk over to the door and waited a while. Shaking my head, I walk over to her badges and pick them up off the ground to put them on a desk and I pull mine out of my pockets to place them down as well.

Turning away from the desk, I go to the computers and signed us both out before walking out the lab door and made my way towards the back and found the rear entrance door cracked open. Walking outside, I saw Shade waiting by the dumpster. Once she looked up at me, she nodded and started walking away from the place. "So, what do we do now Shade?"

"I wish I knew Kit. I just can't take this place anymore."
